Bruno Cathomas

Bruno Cathomas, born in 1965 in Laax/Grisons, studied at the Zurich Drama Academy. From 1992, he performed at venues including the Volksbühne in Berlin, followed in 1999 by an engagement at Theater Basel. From 2002 he was active at the Schaubühne in Berlin, becoming a company member in 2004. He played Woyzeck in Avignon and Edward II at the Salzburg Festival. From 2009 to 2013 he was at the Thalia Theater in Hamburg, and subsequently until 2024 at Schauspiel Köln, where his roles included Nathan the Wise. Since 2024 he has been at the Burgtheater in Vienna. In 2023 he was named Best Swiss Actor.
