Emily Cox is one of the most in-demand actresses in Germany and Austria (including „Jerks“, „Dutschke“, „Die Vaterlosen“).

She acted in films that were successful at national and international festivals and won awards – such as the Berlinale, the Max Ophüls Festival and the Diagonale.

She achieved international breakthrough with the successful Netflix/BBC series „The Last Kingdom“, in which she played the lead role of the warrior Brida for 5 seasons. The series is among the 15 most-streamed series worldwide.

Emily grew up bilingually (English and German) in a German-speaking country. Her British father and Irish mother both work as pianists.
From 2003 to 2008 Cox studied acting at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna. While still completing her training, she celebrated her film debut in Tobias Dörr's short film „Verwehte“ (2008), alongside Susanne Lothar and Ulrich Mühe. The role of the girl earned her the acting award at the Vienna Film Academy International Film Festival.

Also during her studies, she played the lead role of Gretchen Dutschke-Klotz in Stefan Krohmer's combined documentary and feature film „Dutschke“.

Since then, she has consistently played leading roles in international and national cinema and TV productions, as well as for major streaming services. For example, in „The Fatherless“ directed by Marie Kreutzer, „Jerks“ by Christian Ulmen, „Alma & Oskar“ by Dieter Berner, „Wuff“ by Detlef Buck, „Homeland“ on HBO, „Constellations“ on Apple TV and „The Last Kingdom“, which was at times the number 1 series worldwide on Netflix.
