Katrin Plötner

Born in 1985 and raised in Berlin. 2006–2011 studied directing at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, the diploma production was invited to Fast Forward (European Festival for Young Directors) at the Staatstheater Braunschweig.

Productions include those at the Residenztheater, Schauspiel Frankfurt, Staatsschauspiel Dresden, Schauspiel Leipzig, Schauspielhaus Graz, Nationaltheater Mannheim and the Luzerner Theater.

2023 nomination for the Nestroy – Best Regional Production and invitation to the Mülheimer Theatertage, 2022 invitation to the Saxon Theatre Meeting, 2020 invitation to the Heidelberg Stückemarkt and the Authors' Theatre Festival at the Deutsches Theater, 2019 nominated for the nachtkritik Theatre Meeting.

2023/24 Visiting Professor of Acting at the Berlin University of the Arts, 2024 and 2021 Visiting Lecturer in Acting at the Berlin University of the Arts, 2017 Visiting Lecturer in Directing at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, and 2016 member of the jury at the Arena international theatre festival in Erlangen.
